Marcello started dancing at the age of 14, under the direction of Anna Ashy, with the Alief Jazz Ballet. Dancing 12+ hours a week for 4 years, Anna Ashy quickly developed Marcello's skills and launched him into a dance career right after high school. After graduation, Marcello spent the summer working for MA (Marching Auxillieries) where he had the opportunity to travel across the US, teaching dance camps and workshops for high school drill teams. Concluding a long summer of traveling and gaining valuable skills in teaching, Marcello began his professional dancing career with The Houston Metropolitan Dance Company. He had the privelege and honor of working under a variety talented choreographers such as Marlana Walsh and Dina Vail, among other talented dancers. Marcello stepped away from the professional dance world at the age of 22 and began his journey teaching part-time as a hobby. Since he holds such high value in giving back to the community, Marcello went on to teach for the ALIEF JAZZ BALLET, BROADWAY BOUND, CAROLINE'S SCHOOL OF DANCE, LEVEITATE ATHELETIC ACADEMY, ARTISAN'S SCHOOL OF DANCE, and MOVE DANCE AND FITNESS.
At 34, Marcello decided to open DANCE LOVE INSPIRE (DLI Studios) and begin his new career as a dance studio and small business owner. DANCE LOVE INSPIRE is a mantra which he lives by daily. Marcello aspires to influence today's young dancers by bringing self-awareness and positivity to their lives, as well as promoting a passion for dance. He truly believes dance can, and should, be used as a theraputic tool to express what cannot be voiced. Using positive affirmations and a solid foundation of dance technique, he hopes to build the confidence and knowledge in every dancer that they are talented and worthy. In hopes of changing the stigma of anxiety, body shaming and harsh critiques in the dance industry (which leaves many dancers very depressed), Marcello plans to bring change by inspiring youth and adults to LOVE and have a PASSION for dance and, ultimately, for themselves.
